Rare and beautiful photograph of the 1912 Carlisle Indians Football Team highlighted by Jim Thorpe (center with ball). Carlisle was one of the best teams in country and this is one of the few photographs of this collective assortment we have handled! Photo has exceptionally great clarity and despite this being a c. 1940's restrike of the original 1912 image, it presents and has the look and feel of an original 100 year old example. Stunning photo in really nice condition that is being offered to the public here for the first time out of a newspaper archive.
