The most tragic of all baseball figures, Joe Jackson had the most natural talent of perhaps anyone to ever play the game. He was on top of the world, but threw it all away when tempted by gamblers to throw the 1919 World Series. Whether he intentially played down or not, he was banished from the game at the professional level, but could never completely abandone the sport he loved. Seen here sometime in the 1920's, a bit bigger and a bit older but still dominating on the diamond for a bush league team below the radar of the major leagues. An exceptionally rare original photograph, this example dates to the 1950's and presents in great condition.
